Hey RoshamFAM!
This week we've made some set up changes at J's home studio and are working on the next video cover request. We actually used to do this one back when we first started playing together so it's cool getting to reimagine it in a studio setting.
New Swag...
Last week we launched a new line of Summer Tank Tops and we think it hit just in time. It's super muggy this week here in GA so we're definitely rocking tanks this week (although, Kyle does pretty much all the time anyway).

What's Up With J...
I've been doing a lot of moving this week. We have set up a new studio space and are in the process of getting the room treated properly. Kyle was a huge help with moving everything last Thursday. We spent all day going back and forth and I am truly grateful for all his help. I'm hoping being in this new space can help inspire new ideas and motivate a new work flow. This months cover will be shot in the new space and I'm hoping we get to shoot that for you guys this week. With all the moving comes deep cleaning. I find something very comforting in getting things nice, neat and all cleaned up. They say cleanliness is next to godliness. But for me having everything cleaned up and organized helps me focus and keep my thoughts more organized. How is it for you? Do you like things clean or are you an organized mess kinda person? Let me know in the comments below. To anyone who reads this....I love you very much. -J
What's Up with Kyle...
Hi, my name is Kyle... and I'm sorry.
I saw this meme that was floating around on Instagram and Facebook that was a list of things you shouldn't say you're sorry for. I think I understood what the artist was wanting to portray but it kind of rubbed me the wrong way.
It seems like we're living in a society that is putting more value on self-care and self-confidence, which I'm very grateful for. However, I think some of those notions can be harmful when that self-care isolates us or causes us to ignore other people's feelings entirely. Saying "I'm sorry," is not an admission of guilt or wrong doing. It's not synonymous with, "I apologize." I imagine funerals would be really awkward if they were: "I heard about your Aunt passing... I apologize."
Saying that you're sorry means you're attempting to feel someone's struggle, pain, discomfort or inconvenience. We tell kids to say they're sorry when they've done something wrong but I think that's one of the worst things we can do. We can't command someone else to feel. We can only inspire them. Otherwise, we're telling ourselves "It's ok to be fake." It turns us into drones that say things like, "Let me know if there's anything I can do," or "I'll pray for you," with no real intent of lifting a finger. On top of that, making someone say they're sorry in place of an apology takes meaningful connotation away from the expression. In Spanish, if you want to say you're sorry you say "Lo Siento," which in English means "I feel it." Many times the "it," may refer to guilt but it's meant to be something more. The "it" is what the other person is experiencing.
We are by no means inherently responsible for other people's feelings but I think we make a better world when we choose empathy over selfishness. I think it's ok to say you're sorry when you've done nothing wrong. In fact, I think that's when it's most important. As a musician, I'm always trying to find a way to connect with someone I'm just meeting for the first time and with the marvels of modern technology, people I may never meet. It burdens me to see a culture that seeks to quietly strip away those very real and human connections in the name of standing up for yourself. Never apologize for being in the shower when someone calls. Never apologize for not meeting an expectation that is out of your control. Never apologize for speaking your mind in disagreement... but I think it's ok to say you're sorry for those things. I think it's ok to recognize other people's struggle even when those struggles just seem like minor inconveniences at best. Say you're sorry often but for what it really means. I think if we can do that, we can create a world where the need for apology is rare.
-Kyle
Listen to Roshambeaux on Spotify...
We have 2 albums, an Ep and a few singles to boot available to stream on Spotify. Be sure to follow us, add our songs to your playlists and most importantly take us on your day with you. Music makes every situation better (unless you're hiding in a warehouse from an ax murderer... maybe just use headphones in that scenario). Stay safe!
Thanks To Our Monthly Supporters!
As you might imagine, this last year's been pretty rough for most musicians, especially indie musicians like us. We've gotten by by the generous support of our subscribers on Patreon. Patreon is a place where artists put out extra exclusive content that you can't see at a show or on social media.
We started out playing covers in local bars so now on our Patreon, we've gone back to those old days by taking requests once month for new cover. We learn it, put our spin on it and do a live performance video every month based on those requests. It's been a lot of fun! We've done everything from Segar to Prince to Counting Crows to Eagles to James Brown. Y'all have some crazy ideas! Consider supporting us on Patreon even if it's just $1. We'll give you a shout out every week in our blog.
Thanks so much to our Patrons. We couldn't do this without you!

So Much More Roshambeaux on YouTube...
Of course we put all of our Official Music Videos on YouTube but we also have live podcasts with us goofing off and hanging out with whoever logs on, live performances, radio appearances, random skits (we're wanna-be actors) and tasty treats from J's kitchen (yeah, we're not kidding)! Go down the rabbit hole!
