What's Up With Kyle...

I get my second dose of the Moderna Covid 19 vaccine this week. I didn't have much of a reaction with the first dose (just a sore arm for a day or so). Let me know if you've gotten the vaccine, are planning to get it or have decided to pass. Life is full of polarizing issues and I think the way we get we get past them is by talking about it.

Polarization is a funny concept to me. It seems like for every bandwagon that pops up, there's another one alongside it dedicated to not jumping on the first one. It's not enough to simply not go along with something, there's pressure to be vocal about it. I think humans like things to be black and white. We value our sense of belonging for self preservation more than food or shelter. Belonging helps us survive. More and more, I see our society seems ever increasingly desperate for it. The problem I see, is that when we draw a line in hope of validation we end up becoming more isolated and less moreover, less ourselves. It's ok to disagree. Disagreements lead to solutions but we won't ever get there if we dismiss discourse for the comfort of our own echo chambers.

Other than what's going on inside my own head, I've been thinking about doing some simple live unplugged performance videos. No frills, just something where we have a quiet moment together. Let me know if that's something you'd like to see?

-Kyle

What's Up With J...

After Ted passing away last week things have been pretty somber at home. Walking in expecting to see him, hearing noises you associate, etc. I've been describing them as flash memories, where my memories are programed to expect to see him and soon realizing he's not there. But can swear I saw him for a moment. Let me know if any of you have ever experienced things like this.

Also, a big thanks to everyone who reached out and shared some kinds words or you're own experiences. All the comments and messages you guys really are the greatest and helped me feel not so alone.
Determined to stay on a positive path, I've been continuing to grow my ideas for putting out a collection of jewelry that I'm really proud of. I'll be taking good pictures of the pieces and we will be putting a few on our website for sale very soon. So be on the look out for that. Diving into this project has really reminded me of how important it is to just create. No matter what it is and to allow myself to enjoy the process, not just focusing so much on the end results. I'm so grateful for this. Besides that, I've also been working to prepare our full live mix for a super awesome announcement coming soon. Kyle and I both have been working tirelessly to get things another step above what they were. We can't wait to share that news with you soon. Also, an update on the cooking with j episode. I'll be shooting sometime this week and should have it out very soon as well. Thanks for being patient and understanding. And as always to anyone who reads this....I love you very much.
-J

Hey guys! I haven’t gotten the vaccine yet. I’m on the fence. I might later this year. Just worried about the reactions people are having after the second dose, and how it will affect me. I lost my best friend in a car accident around 15 years ago. There were places or times I would be expecting her to be there, and then it would hit me she’s gone. It’s the worst! Even to this day I can remember details of the day I found out she was gone. I miss her so much! Love you guys!!

Hey Christine! Kyle just got the second and the reaction to the second dose was a little more instense. Nothing serious, but worth wanting to take the day to rest. It's crazy the ghosts our loved ones leave for us. It's so hard dealing with not having them but we're happy that they still can influence our day even with just little things. Love you too!
